Stick it to Cancer (SITC) is a fun, fancy dress themed hockey tournament designed to raise funds for Maggie’s. SITC will offer hockey teams the opportunity to participate in a Round Robin tournament. In addition to the festival there will be an after party for all participants and their supporters where awards will be presented.

Where?

The hockey festival will take place at Edinburgh Accies pitches on East Fettes Avenue (directions).

When?

Saturday 6th July 2024 – all day! Specific timings will be sent nearer the date.

For Maggie’s

All the money we raise goes to The Maggie's Cancer Centre in Edinburgh. The Centre is located in the grounds of the Western General Hospital. Maggie's helps to provide emotional, practical and social support for anyone touched by Cancer.

FAQs

Who can play?

Anyone aged 14+. Each team can have a maximum of 10 registered players. This is a mixed tournament for all abilities. Please note anyone aged below 18 will not be able to attend the evening celebration. Sorry!

How much does it cost?

The cost of entry is approximately £200 per team. Please note any teams with more than 10 players will have to pay an additional fee per person. You can submit and pay for your entry on the website. For alternative methods of payment please contact us.

How do I enter a team?

Entires will open in Spring 2024. You’ll be able to enter on the website when the time comes. Any queries should be sent via our contact form. Entries close approx 2 weeks before.

What do I need to take part?

You are expected to provide your own equipment. We would advise wearing shin pads, mouth guard and appropriate sports clothing/fancy dress. Balls will be supplied. Don’t forget your stick!

Don’t have a team?

If you haven’t got a team but are keen to get involved please enter as an individual and we’ll assign you a team.

Why do it?

All the money raised through SITC will go to Maggie’s. Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends.
